Philosophy of Counseling:

Authenticity is one of Shannon’s favorite words and a favorite character trait. She works hard to establish a healthy rapport, where honesty and trust can be developed. With this, she will never waiver from speaking the truth. Shannon believes in a client’s self-determination and promoting a positive self-image for the client to seek to change habits. As a counselor, Shannon cares deeply for those who have experienced traumatic situations and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and teenagers to develop a healthier view on mental health. She believes each person has a voice, and counseling can create a healthy way to find a voice when we don’t feel strong enough to use it.
