Sheila Derr

Executive Director

Sheila Derr brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her role at New Hope Community Life Ministry. Her career has focused on trauma-informed care, equitable access, and building systems that nurture long-term wellbeing for individuals and families across diverse communities.

At New Hope, Sheila provides strategic and spiritual leadership across both the Counseling Center and Community Closet—two distinct yet connected expressions of the ministry’s mission. She is passionate about strengthening community through mutual care, collaborative partnerships, and holistic support for all who walk through New Hope’s doors. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

Sheila holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and brings a relational, systems-oriented lens to both her leadership and her work. She is also inspired by the generosity and resilience of Southern Lancaster County—and is honored to serve a community so deeply committed to one another.

Sheila finds joy in the quiet beauty of wooded trails, long conversations over coffee, and laughter around the table with family and friends. She, her husband, and their son value strong community ties, everyday grace, and the simple rhythms that make life meaningful.
