The Heart Behind the Closet.

Meet the people who make it all possible.

Our staff and volunteers are the soul of the Community Closet—a team of compassionate, purpose-driven individuals who bring warmth, creativity, and dedication to everything they do. From sorting donations to serving customers, each person plays a vital role in turning everyday moments into lasting impact.

Together, they form a beautiful tapestry of service—woven with kindness, fueled by faith, and united by a shared vision: to make every corner of this shop a place where hope is offered, dignity is restored, and community is built.

Kristy Haefner

Store Manager

As the Store Manager of New Hope’s Community Closet, I’m passionate about bringing fresh ideas and new life to the shop. With many years of experience in nonprofit leadership and management, I see this role as the next step in my career—and a meaningful opportunity to serve my community.

Born and raised in Lancaster County, I’m a proud single mom of three and a grandmother to one. I’m also working toward completing my Doctorate in Business Administration, which helps me approach my work with both strategy and heart.

When I’m not at the store, I enjoy reading, playing games with my kids, and attending Bible study with my church group. I also lead a local moms’ group that offers encouragement, practical support, and the listening ear we all need sometimes.

I truly believe God places us exactly where we’re meant to be—and I’m grateful for the chance to make a difference right here at the Community Closet.

Becky Schick

Assistant Manager

As Assistant Manager of New Hope’s Community Closet, I find joy in helping others discover just what they need — and in giving old treasures new, appreciative homes.

I’m a lifelong artist who loves working across nearly every medium, and I draw inspiration from children’s laughter, vintage toys, patinas, etymology, and clouds — just to name a few. I’m the proud wife of Steve and a homeschool mama to six (with three graduates so far!). When I’m not at the shop, you’ll likely find me gathered around a Euro-style board game or off exploring a national park with my crew.

I grew up in the pizza business, where I learned to thrive in environments full of variety, unpredictability, and people — just like the world of thrift! I love seeing God’s hand at work in the day-to-day and consider it a gift to serve in a place where faith, creativity, and community come together.

Brianna Casper

Store Associate

I feel deeply grateful and blessed to be part of the New Hope Community Closet family. Since moving to Southern Lancaster County in 2021, I’ve been continually inspired by the warmth and kindness of this community — where a smile so often meets a smile.

As a mom of two, I count it a joy to raise my children with a foundation of kindness, respect, and the transforming power of God’s grace and love.

Outside of work, I enjoy writing, photography, crocheting, and graphic design. I also find joy in sharing fellowship with family and friends — living out my faith in both quiet moments and everyday connections.
